A Stroll on George Street

I’ve felt the need for a simple sweater,  intended for wear under other layers in deepest winter.  Beta testing Custom Fit was a perfect opportunity for this!

I decided to go for pure function over form for this one, choosing a higher neck and shorter length than is strictly flattering on me, and very tight cuffs so they could slide smoothly inside larger sleeves. Isn’t the feeling of a scrunched up sleeve or sock the most revolting of all discomforts?!

At the last minute I decided to add eyelet plaids, inspired by the George St Pullover. But I made the eyelet lines symmetrical, out of pure laziness – if a software was going to do all the calculating for me, I certainly wasn’t going to bother matching uneven plaid patterns!

Pattern: Generated by Custom Fit, inspired by George Street Pullover, Interweave Knits Fall 2010.
Yarn: Filatura di Crosa Elen Cashmere; Wool, cashmere, silk and rayon; 134m = 50g; dk weight; almost every bit of 6 skeins; Colour “15”.
Needles: 3.5mm for everything, 3mm for neck rib
